David perceives his position as shepherd as one of value and worth, his brother seems to have a different perspective.

1Sa 17:20 “And David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper, and took, and went, as Jesse had commanded him; and he came to the trench, as the host was going forth to the fight, and shouted for the battle.”

1Sa 17:28 “And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.”

In verse 20, David took the time to find someone else who would care for his sheep, while he was away. We see the 2 perspectives. David’s brother saw David’s job of keeping sheep, as small and menial in comparison to fighting in Israel’s army, but David thought about his sheep enough not just to leave them, but leave them in someone else’ care while he was gone. GOD USED the sheep TO EXPOSE DAVID (what his brother saw as small and insignificant) with the experience of killing a lion and a bear. It was because of the sheep that David had the faith and courage to stand up against Goliath. It was because of the small things, that he was equipped and supported by God to deal with the big things. God will use the small things in our lives to get us through the big challenges. God will work HIS impossibilities through us when we do not despise the seemingly small things.

When my husband and I visited Israel, we saw a young shepherd youth tending his sheep. I watched him leading his sheep along a field, as our tour bus passed him. This was an amazing scene to me because it reminded me of the story of David as a young shepherd. The young man looked to be between 12-15 years of age. He was alone with his sheep. This may have been how David would have looked in today’s time. Just an ordinary youth, not looking the part of a warrior ready for battle. It must have been utterly shocking, even for David’s brothers when he was willing to take on Goliath. Even Saul said to David in 1 Samuel 17:33 “You can’t go and fight this Philistine. You’re too young and inexperienced—and he’s been at this fighting business since before you were born.” David seemed too young and inexperienced. David spent his time tending his sheep, but he also spent time with GOD. When we abide in The Lord behind closed doors when no one else is watching, GOD will strengthen us in our weaknesses. David’s abiding and shepherding the sheep produced strength and ability that would save the entire nation of Israel.

Pay attention to the small things in your life. Take care of the small things. What others see as menial and insignificant are the things we should be giving our attention to. The small things gave David a different perspective from all the other men on the battlefield that day. No one was willing to stand up to Goliath, including Saul, and Saul was no joke because Saul did not mind fighting. Saul died fighting while in his seventies. David had taken the time to allow God to invade his thinking in the process of caring for his few sheep, and a seed had grown that was big enough to take on Goliath. Not despising the small things made him think like God. THINKING WITH A HUMBLE HEART. His brother could not stand up against Goliath because small and insignificant things in his sight, were not worth his time. Don’t despise the days of small beginnings. Give small things respect. Don’t despise what God has put in your care for granted. That’s what he uses to help us grow and mature to where we can take what we learn through the process and grow our faith to slay the Giants in our lives. God will put things and people in our hands to care for and to nurture. Don’t despise small faith, small hope, because if there is any sign of it being there, there is potential for growth. All seeds start out small. Even if your seed is big by some standards, if it’s a seed to God, then it will produce more. Seeds increase, seeds grow unless we don’t water, nurture and take care of them.
Eliab spoke as if being on the battlefield was more important than David tending sheep. David tended sheep, but that’s where he learned how to walk by faith, and face giants. That does not sound like a menial place. It was also in the wilderness. The wilderness can represent a place of loneliness, and dryness. Seemingly not much going on, but it’s in that very place that David was growing stronger and maturing in faith. God didn’t see that place as small.

Decide what you will do with your seeds. Some seeds we should water and tend to so they can grow. Other seeds should be demolished and not given a chance to grow. The fruit of the spirit seeds versus the seeds of the flesh. Every seed starts out small. When we don’t despise the small, God will work HIS impossibilities thru and by us.
By the time anyone realized it, David was already a warrior. By the time the big challenge came, David was ready for the challenge without anyone knowing it. Did anyone even know that David had slain the lion and the bear?
What’s in your life that appears small? Take a second look. God may have placed it there for the purpose of taking you to a higher place and to help others in a way you never dreamed. He is God and will see us through the metamorphosis times in our lives.

This is the summer season and many are traveling on vacation. It is unlikely for most people to go on vacation without knowing where they are going or without some directions. Things can become very confusing really fast without a plan. This verse tells us that our Heavenly Father God will show us the path ( road, highway, or the way) He has designed for us to go. God has a Master plan for each and everyone, if we will open our hearts to His purpose. Jeremiah 29:11 says “I say this because I know what [the plans] I am planning for you,” says the Lord. “I have good plans for you [ plans for your peace/security], not plans to hurt you [for your harm]. I will give you hope and a good future.” ( Expanded Bible). It only makes sense that the One who created us has also planned our lives. Another verse in Jeremiah 10:23 tells us “I know, Lord, that our lives are not our own. We are not able to plan our own course.” ( New Living Translation). God will show and direct us in life on the path that He has planned for us to travel. Following this path will bring pleasure to God and us as well.

A few years back, I had a dream that I would describe as “The Path of Life”. In the dream, my husband and I were in a car together on a two lane highway. The right lane was narrow and the left lane was wide. Matthew 7:13-14 says “Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and spacious and broad is the way that leads away to destruction, and many are those who are entering through it. Vs. 14 But the gate is narrow ( contracted by pressure) and the way is straitened and compressed that leads away to life, and few are those who find it.“ ( Amplified Bible). My husband and I were in the right lane of the road which was a narrow lane. There was another car in the left lane, which was a wide lane. The person/persons in that car were driving erratically and trying to keep us from passing, while at the same time trying to stop us in our tracks. I believe in the dream the car on the wide road represented the flesh. On the path of life, we must deal with ourselves first, that carnal nature that wants to take control. We must agree with Romans 7:18 “For I know that there is nothing good housed inside me- that is, inside my old nature, I can want what is good, but I can’t do it!” ( Complete Jewish Bible). The KJV describes this as “the flesh”. Galatians 5:17 tells us that the flesh and the Spirit are contrary to one another. They are one another’s adversary, they oppose one another. We must first allow the grace of God to help us conquer our own carnal nature on the path of life. The flesh wants to travel on the wide road, while the desire of our Spirit nature is the narrow road. Even though the flesh fought hard to keep us from passing it on the path of life, we did get past it. This is not a one time event. We must throughout the course of life stay in control of our flesh.

We rode a little further and eventually came to another obstacle. In the left lane of the road there was a large truck that was parked. There was a crowd of people standing close to the truck in that lane. There was also a person lying on the ground that appeared to be badly injured. The closer we got to the scene, the more we realized this was a setup to stop us. The person was not really injured and the truck was there to keep us from going any further because at that very spot where the truck, the crowd of people and the seemingly injured person was, our lane was filled with water. The water was so high in our narrow lane, until it seemed impossible to go on without getting on the wide road. But even if we got on the wide road, we could not go anywhere because the big truck would not let us through. Our thought was how are we going to continue on the narrow road with so much water in our path? We realized, the seemingly injured person was placed there to play with our emotions. We should have an open heart about helping people that are hurting and in need, but at the same time don’t be moved only by our emotions. Be sensitive to God’s voice in every circumstance. The crowd of people signified the people that had been stopped by this setup. The enemy will try and tempt us through our mind, will and emotions. This was a ploy to make us think that we had a good reason to stop and we had no other choice. Other than stopping and joining the crowd, our only choice was to drive through the water. We made the decision that regardless of the cost, we would drive through the water. We did that which seemed impossible and came out on the other side. Isaiah 43:16 says “This is what the Lord says. He is the One who made a road through the sea and a path through rough waters.” ( New Century Version) Once again, on this narrow road we experienced the grace of God in our lives. By HIS grace, we did what was impossible for us, but made possible by the ONE and ONLY TRUE GOD.
This is how we live and accomplish what The Lord our God has called us to do and to become.

We road a bit further and at some point realized there were people throwing stones at us. We realized it was a mob of people. The stones were flying everywhere, but not one stone hit us. The stones represented accusations, offenses, stumbling blocks, mockings, ridicule, unrighteous judgments, negative criticism, lies, harmful words, condemnation, and things of that nature that are designed to harm us and stunt or stop our spiritual growth. We never slowed down in spite of the challenges. In the book of Nehemiah, Sanballat and Tobiah were enemies of Nehemiah and the Jewish people. When they heard that Nehemiah and the Jews were rebuilding the walls to the city of Jerusalem, the bible says Sanballat was angry and he began to mock and ridicule the Jews. This is what Sanballot said in Nehemiah 4:2 “And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned?” (KING JAMES VERSION) Notice the last sentence in that verse, will they revive the stones out of the heaps of rubbish which are burned? New Century Version reads “Can they bring stones back to life from piles of trash and ashes?” New Life Version says “Will they get good stones for building from the dust, seeing they are burned?” New Living Translation “Do they actually think they can make something of stones from a rubbish heap- and charred ones at that?” Can we actually build something that is valuable, useful and prosperous from the stones that are thrown at us that were intended by the enemy to harm us? I believe we can if we are on the narrow road. Sanballot asked the question “will they revive the stones out of the heaps of rubbish…?” The word revive means to make something new, something strong, healthy, something that has life, restored from a state of depression. Rubbish can be described as trash, something that is not important, words that have no value, useless things. Is it possible for us by the grace of God to take the stones that are thrown at us, which are intended to cause us to venture away from God, and turn those stones into something that will strengthen us and help others ? I believe they are. Isaiah 62:10 says “Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people.” There will be stones on the narrow road. The Lord wants us to gather them out. Don’t allow what was intended for evil to take root in us. His plan is to take everything that is intended for evil, that is intended to hurt us, harm us, bring calamity in our lives, confusion, affliction, misery, trouble, grief, displeasure, disharmony, things that try to stop us or try to convince us to take the easy way out or to travel on the wide road. He will turn it all around for our good. God will make it into something beautiful, cheerful, lovely, sweet, pleasant, joyful harmonious and His favor and fragrance will be present.

Let us be aware of the things that we encounter that are sent to try and uproot us from God’s plan. The Lord is going to present to HIMSELF ”a glorious church, not having spot, wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” The narrow road is filled with obstacles and pressure, but by God’s mercy and grace, we can and will succeed.

It’s called being born again. The fire of God’s light inside of man was extinguished in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve agreed with the adversary and darkness within was man’s reality. The lordship of Jesus brought back the fire of God to the heart of man. At the end of His earthly ministry He lit the fires again bringing man back to his original magnificence. John 20:22 AMP, Acts 2:1-4. The born again is now the temple of God. 1 Cor 3:16 In our worship of almighty God we lift our hands which is comparable of the evening (2nd lamb) sacrifice explained below. Psalm141:2.
When the fire first burned on the altar in the temple the priest were required to keep the fire burning. The Lord required two lambs to be totally burnt. One was placed on the altar in the morning and the other in the afternoon. These sacrifices were called whole burnt offerings. The priest were required to assure that the fire burned all night with the expectation of repeating the cycle of sacrifice the following day. Ex 28:38-44. During the time of Jesus, the priest were still required to keep the fire burning. The fire must be hot enough to consume the entire lamb before the high priest entered the temple early the next morning. He would quietly enter the temple way before daybreak. The high priest first checked to see if the priest that performed the night watch kept the fire burning high enough to consume the sacrifice. If the sacrifice was consumed the high priest would await the temple alert called the cock crow to start the morning sacrifice. Matt 24:34,74-75. That was an alert performed by the priest of the temple. If the sacrifice hadn’t been consumed the high priest would seek the sleeping priest that didn’t keep the fire burning. The high priest would find him sleeping and set the priest’s priestly robe afire. Jesus made reference to this many times during His ministry. Rev 16:15, 1Thess 5:4-8; Matt 24:43 Jesus stated that the priest shouldn’t be found naked due his clothes being burned. Actually Jesus wasn’t referring to His coming at an unexpected time. He was referring to being prepared for His coming. He stated that His coming wouldn’t be a surprise for the informed. 1Thessalonians 5:2-10 What The Lord desires of us is to keep the fire burning. The scriptures state that judgment begins at the house of God. 1 Pet 4:17 Keep the fire burning being ready for His coming in order that the day doesn’t find you unaware. Lukewarm love will not be profitable for anyone at His coming. Rev 3:15-16 Be blessed in the Love of the Lord as preparations are made for His coming. The bride of Christ will be burning in love for her heavenly husband because she will keep the fire burning.

Through His Words he created the earth and all that it contains. With His Words he creates the animals, plants, all the trees and starry heavens. In verse twenty-six Elohim holds a conversation within the unity of the Godhead stating, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (Genesis 1:26) Mankind began having a face to face relationship in the Garden of Eden with Him. After their fall, they could hear the sound(voice) of Jehovah God walking up and down in the garden at the breeze(wind/spirit) of the day, and the man and his wife hide themselves from the face of Jehovah God in the midst of the trees of the garden. Genesis 3:8 Though the catastrophe was released Adam and Eve both could still hear the voice of God. The Bible is a written record of the communications of God with mankind. Within the pages of the Holy Writ there are many and various types of heavenly communications. There are instances when God spoke directly to man. Exodus 20:1 Other times angels were used, starting at the beginning in the book of Genesis and ending in the book of Revelation. The Lord is still speaking. The book of Hebrews states, Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: Today, if you will hear His voice, Hebrews 3:7 This scriptures uses the word “if” as if to state the possibility of hearing the voice of God has not changed. So see to it that you do not reject Him or refuse to listen to and heed Him Who is speaking[to you now]. For if they [the Israelites] did not escape when they refused to listen and heed Him Who warned and divinely instructed them [here] on earth Hebrews 12:25 In light of recent happenings in our nation it should be apparent of our need for a hearing ear for the voice of God. Jesus laments the fact that those that listen to His preaching did not hear Him. “For this people’s heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.” Matthew 13:15 The only safe place in the earth is living in the will of God for your life. With the many warnings that He has given us, it is in our interest to learn how God speaks to us. On the Day of Atonement for the last three years The Lord has given me revelation concerning our future and the traps we need to avoid to be successful in Him. There are many avenues that God uses to speak to His people. The most common ways are through nature Psalm 19:1-2. A renewed mind that thinks in godly thought patterns and Godly council are also much used by Him Proverbs 16:13 . On the Day of Atonement the Spirit of The Lord speaks in not so common ways. He speaks in dreams, visions, words spoken in my heart. These words are as clear as if someone was speaking in my hear. Visitations from The Lord are also included. Our God is a speaking God For I the Lord do not change. Malachi 3:6 The Lord Jesus is speaking from heaven to help us face the future full of faith, hope, and love. He wants to bless us in the midst of the storms of life and enrich our lives as never before. A podcast is prepared that will explain in more detail this revelation, its background and place in our world today. A podcast called the Shepherd’s Rod is provide to give you a scriptural understanding of the revelation from the Lord.

These two abilities are both Holy Spirit driven. The manifestation of these gifts are on vastly different levels of distributions and operations of the Holy Spirit. To be spiritually discerning is being able to discern by your inward man the difference between good and evil. “But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil” (Hebrews 5:14KJV). This capability in the inward man is developed from knowing the Lord.

This sensitivity is developed from the Hebrew term Yada H3045. ידע Yāḏa. Yada is a verb meaning to know, learn, perceive, discern and to experience. This equates to having intimate knowledge of someone. This is the term that God used when Adam “Yada” Eve and they had a child. In Genesis 4:1, the intimacy described by this word is a knowing through covenant intimacy. Many use the “gift” of suspension in the Body of Christ thinking it is discerning spirits. Unregenerate men use this gift in the world. As stated in the scripture quoted above, this is a spiritual ability. The apostle Paul states that there is a supernatural gift given by the Holy Spirit called discerning spirits, “To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues” (1 Corinthians 12:10 KJV). This Holy Spirit given gift is an ability to “see” in the spirit world. With this ability to see is the capability to know if the spirit seen is good, evil, divine or demonic. These are supernatural visions given by the Holy Spirit. The book of Revelation is a book filled with this gift in operation at the highest level.

Being a bi-vocational pastor, I spend considerable time outside of the church. The morning of September 11, 2001 was a morning I was up all night due to work related duties. Everyone remembers where he or she was and what they were doing on that tragic day. 9/11 was the day Americans realized the world, as we know it had changed. Everyone watched in disbelief as the Twin Towers burned and eventually collapsed turning lower Manhattan into a huge scene of terror. “And on every lofty mountain and every high hill there will be brooks running with water, in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall” (Isaiah 30:25 ESV).The book of Ecclesiastes states, “The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9 KJV).

As I revisit that tragic time, the Saturday before 9/11, I had a vision while in prayer. In the vision, I saw the Lord Jesus. He was crying. My immediate response was Lord why are you crying? His answer was “Because My people are not diligent.” After this scene, His face disappeared. Later that afternoon as I was going to the church to gather with a few believers for some intercessory prayer, the thought came back to me. I now recognize the thought was the Lord preparing me for that dreadful morning as I watched the buildings fall. Shortly thereafter, the word of the Lord came to me saying just one word “Hero.” I kept that inside looking for what it meant.

Several days later in October we took a trip to Southern California. We were some of the first passengers in the sky after 9/11. The Lord assured is that there would be no trouble. We traveled in assured faith. After returning from our vacation to California, my son and I had a supernatural experience into the world of darkness with the Holy Spirit gift of “Discerning Spirits” in operation. This was a simultaneous supernatural phenomena in our home during the night as my son was asleep in his bed. I was on the couch in the living room due to one of those sleepless nights praying. Suddenly, I began to hear footsteps coming downstairs on the stair steps. Before I continue, my son will relate to you what he encountered upstairs.

Sam Tyler II’s Experience

It was October 2001 the month after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The country was still in shock that such evil had come to our backyard so to speak. My family and I had just come back from a trip to Southern California a few days prior. There was a huge portion of the population that was afraid to fly during this time. My parents decided since I was leaving home the following January to attend college in Atlanta that our last vacation together should be memorable and somewhere that I had always wanted to go. I had dreamed of going to California ever since I was a child and was so happy to have gone. I have now visited 11 countries and California is still my favorite place on the planet.

A few days after we had gotten back to South Carolina, I was asleep in my room. The excitement of the trip had finally started to wear off and the routine of daily life was in full swing. There was nothing out of the ordinary and I was sound asleep. At about 3AM, my sleep was suddenly interrupted by the supernatural. I was awakened by a presence that entered my room. I have been seeing and experiencing the supernatural; such as seeing spirits, angels, demons, out of body experiences, dreams, visions, appearances of Jesus talking to me just to name a few examples since I was a child. This should not be a shock or surprise to people if they are believers in the Bible. The Word declares, “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream, your young men will see visions” (Joel 2:28 NIV). I used to see angels in our house as a young child. I had become so accustomed to them, I thought they were real people until I was old enough to understand what I had been seeing all of those years.

The presence that entered that night was one that I can never forget. It was pure 100% evil. It slowly came into my room and within a few seconds had fully engulfed the whole area. The energy went from being totally normal to a horrible terror. I do remember thinking, “Leave now in Jesus name” but the energy of the spirit was so strong I cannot say definitely if I audibly said anything. After I thought or said the name of Jesus I could see what it was. It was a spirit with a black hood over it. It was carrying an ax like object on its shoulders. I told it to leave again in Jesus name and it still remained there looking down. Mind you, when I say the energy in the room was 100% evil, we are not talking about a quick scare. I am speaking of an energy force of total terror and horror. It was indeed a special and high-level spirit that had entered my presence. I am not sure how long it stayed in my room but it could not have been longer than a minute. I told it to leave in Jesus name for a third time. After repeating, “Leave in Jesus name” the third time, I felt it and its wicked energy leave my presence. I heard it slowly walk down the stairs one foot at a time with what sounded like spurs on a boot hitting each stair as it walked down. It shook me to my core experiencing such a satanic like presence up close and personal. I wondered what had I done so that it would even enter my room? I found out the next morning after I talked to my father that I was not the only one that had experienced this spirit during the previous night. My father will now talk about his experience that night and what it meant.

Pastor Samuel’s Word Continued

I heard footsteps coming toward me. I noticed with each step that an unusual noise was being made. It sounded like something was tinkling or tingling. Suddenly, the noise was at my ear I looked to see what I was listening to. There I saw boots that were black with what looked like cowboy spurs on the back of the boot. Realizing this was a high level spirit in our home, suddenly the Lord spoke saying, “Be quiet and listen”. I wanted to rebuke it to rid our home of his presence. The spirit proceeded to move towards the fireplace. At this point, I was able to see it entirely. He was hooded and his face you could not see. It wore a cape down to the top of his boot. He was black and had a power immigrating from him that was totally diabolical. He reminded me of Darth Vader in the movie Star Wars. He then turned and said, “I will be back.” He then disappeared in an instance. After this encounter, I lay on the couch wondering what the words meant.

I sought the Lord and He revealed to me that the evil presence my son and I had encountered was one of the mastermind spirits that orchestrated the 9/11attacks. The Sunday after that tragedy places of worship were filled wanting to know why and how such an event could happen? My remarks were not well received. I preached that as of a result of the church not being diligent in the ways of God, this horrible event happened according to Matthew 18:18 which refers to what we allow will be allowed and what we prevent will be prevented. All over this nation places of worship were back to Pre-9/11 attendance levels within a short period of time. This led me to believe that the people that name the name of the Lord had not changed. Since 2001, church attendance has decreased ten percent according to statistics collected by religious pollsters. Instead of moving closer to God, the reaction has been the opposite. “This tragedy was orchestrated not by flesh and blood but by spiritual forces in the heavens” (Ephesians 6:12 ). To prevent a repeat of further tragedies our attitude towards the ways of the Lord must change. “Not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord” (Romans NKJV). In the beginning I presented a vision of the Lord in tears lamenting the lack of diligence in His people concerning the things of the Kingdom of heaven. Deuteronomy 28 and Leviticus 26 states that if the Lord is not served in a pleasing manner that tragedy would result. Roman 13:11-14 makes the case so that further tragedies can be diverted. Let us be among those that work with the Lord to hold back and possibly prevent further reasons to morn. “Let us be those that lift up our heads to the Lord walking in His victory because redemption draws near” (Luke 21:28)

He was childless and living as a foreigner. He has fought in a war, endured famine and had his wife abducted by a king. Nevertheless, Abraham continued moving forward in faith. In Genesis 15:1-6 he is exhausted and a little fearful so he goes to God in prayer. The Holy Spirit is on him and his greatest concern rises up to God in his prayer. He is still childless. Most would believe it would be retaliation by the countries that he just defeated in war. Retaliation was a concern mentally but his heart was concerned with the promised child. Here is an example of how the word of God under the power of the Holy Spirit seperated the spirit from the soul. Hebrews 4:12 The sword of the spirit got to the very intents of Abraham’s heart. This reveals that the promise of God was deeply implanted in his heart. Therefore, putting aside all moral uncleanness and wicked excess, welcome with humility the implanted message which is able to save your souls. (James 1:21 LEB)The Father assures him that all is well and not to fear. James 1:21 The Lord then instructs him to cut covenant with Him. This covenant reveals to Abraham that God is committed in every way to him. Abraham has learned the fight of faith. He knows that even though God had spoken he had to fight the adversary(birds) to see the sanctioning of the covenant. The Lords speaks to him in darkness explaining to Abraham the plight that his promised seed would endure. He moves forward irregardless to the disturbing news believing that ultimately the Lord’s goodness would prevail. (BBE) Hebrews 6:12 So that you may not be slow in heart, but may take as your example those to whom God has given their heritage, because of their faith and their long waiting. Long waiting patience is now being developed. Approximately 25 years has passed from the giving of the promise to its fulfillment. He and his wife began to try to make the promise happen. They began to see that his physical capabilities began to wane so they took some natural actions believing that God would approve. If he had sought the Lord before proceeding with the plan he would no doubt been halted by the spirit of God. The Lord didn’t interfer with the decision in the same manner as the fall in the Garden of Eden. Abraham fathered the child and his reproductive abilities died. Sarah was already unable to have children. The seventh step in the process of developing Abrahamic faith manifests as the Lord moves to encourage their faith. He was encouraging renewed hope and faith due to both of their inability to produce the promised child. Genesis 17 has the Lord restating his intentions and Abraham realizing for the first time that his first son is not the promised child. Abraham believes it and the Lord helps him with his faith by asking Abraham to circumcise himself, his whole household including the firstborn son. Romans 4:11-24 Thus we see Abraham’s faith expressed by his actions on a natural level of what he believed in his heart. In Genesis 18 Jesus shows up to eat the covenant meal with his friend Abraham. Abraham’s response when He sees the Lord approaching gives us reason to believe that there were other appearances. Abraham knew who was approaching and he forgot about the pain of circumcision, running, and bowing calling Him Adonai.(Heb.136)Strong’s We see the Lord walking through the pieces in Genesis15 and now Abraham’s response by circumcision. The Lord encourages the development of Abraham’s faith telling him that in a years time the child would be born. The child was born as stated by the Lord. The bodies of the child’s parents were both moved upon by the Holy Spirit to enable them to have children. In this article nothing has been said about Sarah but her body was physically renewed making her youthful to give birth, nurse, and raise her son. The development of her faith is another subject that needs to be explored. The eighth step in the process of the developement of Abraham’s faith is the offering up of Isaac his beloved son. In Genesis 15:1-6 Abraham was promised a child in the presence of the Lord. Abraham not being a grandfather, was another contradiction to the promise because he was promised by God that “many” nations would come from his loins. As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. (Genesis 17:4 KJV) Through the many years of learning the character of his Lord he did not hesitate to obey the request. This is the ultimate expression for the development of Abrahamic faith. He believed what we all look forward to, the resurrection of his son. By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was in the act of offering up his only son, of whom it was said, “Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.” He considered that God was able even to raise him from the dead, from which, figuratively speaking, he did receive him back. (Hebrews 11:17-19 ESV) In developing his faith, Abraham had learned to hear God’s voice. He did not doubt when he heard. At this point in the developement of his faith everything he pursued at the Lord’s direction seem to produce contradictions as he moved forward. Many think that faith is an easy life but the adversary will resist and hinder faith’s outcome at every opportunity. Much had been said about Abraham’s imperfections in his actions but the Lord was looking at his heart intentions. Hebrews 4:12-13 We have endeavored to see Abraham’s faith development from the heavenly prospective. The grace of God working in someone’s life gives them the ability to bring the wishes of heaven to earth. A friend of mine made a statement that as stated in Genesis 1 how the Father had a world out of order. Man was made to bring it back to order. As we have seen, to enter into the process of developing an Abrahamic faith we must first make Jesus the Lord of our lives. He then begins to reveal Himself developing within us an Abrahamic faith that will bring heaven’s desires to earth. The Lord wants to bring order into your life and the lives of others in your world as we walk in Abrahamic faith. In the natural world you will live in what appears to be a contradiction to what God has said to you. The book of Jasher a tremendous source of revelation is provided that will give a deeper insight into the book of Genesis and Abrahamic Faith. Satan being the god of this world will make the contradiction appear insurmountable, but Abrahamic faith conquers the world. Live by faith and the victory of God will be revealed and heaven will rejoice.

Without God moving on Abraham’s heart the clarity of the message to him would have been distorted. He could have discerned that he was to leave but it’s possible that he would have went to the wrong destination. Jesus said go into all the world. The Holy Spirit has to lead you to the part of the world that He desires of you. The second process of developement in the faith of Abraham was the persecution by Nimrod. Jesus said, Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matthew 5:10-12 NKJV) The Lord was developing Abrahamic faith because Jesus is stating that He wants the kingdom of heaven manifested in the earth. The Lord also was seeking to bless Abraham in the highest manner. This test can not be found in the OT. There are two references in the OT that refer to a book that both Joshua and David read. It is a valuable source of knowledge. It is called the book of Jasher. (Joshua 13:13 ; 2 Samuel 1:18) A link to the book has been provided that will help as we continue to peer into the faith of Abraham. http://m.ccel.org/ccel/anonymous/jasher/home.html Both Joshua and David felt this book was reliable as evidently the scripture states for our enrichment. The book of Jasher gives great detail into the life of Abraham facing Nimrod and the other processes needed to develop Abrahamic faith. Abraham displays his faith by the actions taken in his life. Abraham was aware of the consequences of refusal to bow to Nimrod. Due to the purity of his heart he was able to face a world ruler and eventually defeat him. As stated in Genesis 14:1 later Abraham defeated Nimrod(Amraphel of Shinar) in war while rescuing Lot. The Spirit of God instructed Abraham to leave his family as the third step in the development of his faith. As stated If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple. Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. (Luke 14:26, 27 NASB) Jesus must be Lord of our lives. Family and friendship love that we normally display is not the love of god. It is a natural human love than all men are capable of expressing. If Jesus is not Lord then unholy soul ties to our family will result. If the Lord would ask of us something that would conflict with family values or desires and we choose it rather than Him then it says to Him that they are more important to us. Luke16:27-28 states that a man in hell being tormented had concern for his family in the earth. Abrahamic faith is displayed by his obedience to leave his family and homeland. Abraham tried to leave his family but his relatives hindered him in his separation. He moved through the hindrances obeying the voice of the Lord. I’ve noticed that all the great acts of faith were performed when God dealt with His people in supernatural ways. The supernatural affects the emotion and will giving us the power to move beyond natural limitations. That is the reason we posted other articles to help you open up to God’s ways. In our own lives we received direction from the Holy Spirit to leave where we lived and move to our present location in 1985. We had to resist the concerns of people to obey the Lord. When I spoke to my mother about it she went silent. I had a family to be responsible for but my wife was also fully persuaded by the Holy Spirit. The Lord moved supernaturally to provide for us financially to fulfill His will. Then all realized it was the leading of the Lord that we were following. The fourth step in the development of Abrahamic faith was the famine in Canaan. Before his arrival the adversary put up a contradiction of Abraham’s expectations in order to see if he would return home or remain faithful. The Lord said that he was going to bless the development of Abrahamic faith. And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return. (Hebrews 11:15 NKJV) Isaac his son stayed in Israel during famine and prospered at the Lord’s direction. Genesis 26:12 Is it possible that Abraham taught Isaac what he learned about God in the development of his faith life. Abraham went into Egypt imperiling the life of Sarah and himself. Though he went to Egypt, his relationship due to his faithful obedience enabled the family the protection of God. Sarah was rescued by a visitation of God to the king. The more committed one is to the Lord the more he treats you like a good husband would a loving wife. Isaiah 54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. The Lord of host(armies) implies Him as our protector. All of the developements that have been examined up to this point were before God and Abraham cut covenant. The fifth process of developement was the rescue of Lot from the confederation of kings which included Nimrod (Amraphel). Genesis 14:1 This war is one of the most overlooked miracles in all of God’s word. Evidence of Abraham the teacher is the training of his servants for war. Later you find him circumcising the whole household which included the servants that engaged in that war. Trained in God, Abraham took a 318 servants and defeated an army of thousands without loosing a single person. Before we proceed further it should be noted that Abraham had much more of the knowledge of God than is apparent. Here is a scriptural reference that is overlooked but informative. Because Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.” (Genesis 26:5 ESV) The scripture states that he had commandments, statutes, and laws. Much has been said about Abraham giving tithes to Melchizedek, but tithing was a practice that was well established in he earth. This scripture hints at an ongoing system of worship established by God. Extra biblical books like the book of Jasher are great sources of insight. Melchizedek was priest of the most high God and Abraham knew to present his gift to him. Let’s follow the Lord in the development of Abrahamic faith by honoring the Lord with our increase. Love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your being, and all your strength. (Deuteronomy 6:5 CEB) The word strength in Hebrew is define by Hebrew people as finances. How we handle our treasure is the barometer of our heart love for Him. Abraham brought his increase to God and honored the Lord an God presented him with a covenant meal. Let’s walk in the Abrahamic faith and bring heaven to earth as did Father Abraham.

Many today have the misunderstanding that their religious beliefs are what the bible calls faith. The bible definition of faith is found in the book of Hebrews 11:1,6 Through the years I’ve listened to many ministers preach on the subject of developing faith. Many times listening to those sermons I felt like I had eaten a cake with missing ingredients. Abraham is called the father of faith. Romans 4:12-16 There were many before Abraham that lived a bible faith. Enoch, Noah , Abel and Job were among the many that lived the faith lifestyle. God chose to the use Abraham’s faith because his faith had an element that would cause it to perpetuate itself. Genesis 18:19 We will take a look into the development of Abraham’s faith to see why he is called the father of faith. The word of god implores us to walk in the faith of father Abraham. Hebrews 11:1,6 (NKJV) states, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Here we see that to have a developed vibrant faith, bible hope must be present. Romans 8:24-26 states that hope gives us the ability to see with the spiritual eyes of hope. True faith has evidence that is not seen or touched. Seeking the father is another element that sets apart true faith from presumption. Much of what is seen today is presumption produced from a lack of a seeking heart. Bible faith and bible knowledge gain by study are not the same. Many have studied the bible for years and a heart of faith is still not present. Faith comes by hearing the word of God. Romans 10:17 God’s words are spirit and must be heard with our spirits. It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63 KJV) Hope gives us the ability to see spiritually. Everything that we have been commissioned to produce is designed to help you grow spiritually in a loving relationship with God through obedience. Everything present on the site is to help you develope true bible faith and hope. True salvation begins by making Jesus the Lord of your life, because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9 ESV) Jesus made an astounding statement that is often overlooked. If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his [own] father and mother [in the sense of indifference to or relative disregard for them in comparison with his attitude toward God] and [likewise] his wife and children and brothers and sisters–[yes] and even his own life also–he cannot be My disciple. (Luke 14:26 AMP) Jesus is stating that if you truly in the depths of your heart make Him Lord He will make you His personal disciple. This has nothing to do with a calling to minister but this is a calling to Jesus to know Him. Knowing His character will cause faith to grow. Therefore He calls you to Himself. This is vastly different from what we consider normal Christianity. Jesus stated that He will become your personal teacher. The Lord will take entrance into your life that will be unforgettable to develope your faith. As stated, the development of the faith of Abraham, the father of our faith will be examined. The process of God developing him will teach us God’s ways so that we can produce His acts in our lives. The first test that Abraham faced in his obedience was to rid his household of idols. Luke 14:26 states Jesus must be the true Lord of your life to live a life of faith. It is written that Abraham grew up in a household of idolatry. Joshua 24: 2, And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served other gods. Idolatry resulting from not making Jesus Lord, is devastating to faith development that’s attempting to seek God. “Therefore speak to them, and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Everyone of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart, and puts before him what causes him to stumble into iniquity, and then comes to the prophet, I the Lord will answer him who comes, according to the multitude of his idols, that I may seize the house of Israel by their heart, because they are all estranged from Me by their idols.” ’ (Ezekiel 14:4, 5 NKJV) The human heart that is inhabited by idolatry will hear every word from God pass through the idols within distorting His message. This causes pseudo faith actions outside of God’s will due to idolatry. In Numbers 22:12-21 we have an example of how this occurs in the human heart. Due to translation issues it appears as if God changed His mind concerning Balaam traveling to Balak to curse the Lord’s people. Not having knowledge of the Hebrew language is causing much difficulty in seeing that the Lord is the same in all of the bible. “For I am the Lord, I do not change.(Malachi 3:6 NKJV) In the western world we look at other nations and their worship and wonder how someone can worship and believe in those ways. What we misunderstand is if Jesus isn’t truly Lord then idolatry is the result. We worship material wealth, comfort, and sensuality. The dollar is sometimes called the “almighty” dollar. Only the Lord is almighty and awesome. We are using words and images that are destroying our ability to develop faith and hope in God. Hebrews 11:1 states that faith causes hope to stand. This term was first advanced by the rabbis many years prior to the appearing of the Lord. The term the birth pains of the Messiah is derived from several scriptural passages. Jeremiah states, Now these are the words that the Lord spoke concerning Israel and Judah. “For thus says the Lord: ‘We have heard a voice of trembling, Of fear, and not of peace. Ask now, and see, Whether a man is ever in labor with child? So why do I see every man with his hands on his loins Like a woman in labor, And all faces turned pale? Alas! For that day is great, So that none is like it; And it is the time of Jacob’s trouble, But he shall be saved out of it. (Jeremiah 30:4-7 NKJV) The salvation spoken of here is the Lord’ coming to rescue the covenant people while comparing it to a woman giving birth to a child. The prophetic scriptures actually revealed the time frames of both of His comings. Daniel 9:24-27 gives the time frame of the Lord’s first coming . Hosea 6:1-2 speaks of the Lord’s second coming. Both prophets speaks of it in Hebraic terms that must be approached with an understanding of their intended meanings. Hosea stated in the above scripture that after two days He would return and mankind would lives in His sight. The question should be what marks the time period spoken of by the prophet. Leviticus 25 speaks of the Year of Jubilee. It is a year of release from all financial debt that occurred every fifty years. Everyone is blessed with the opportunity to return to their family inheritance and start over again. Zechariah 14:6-7;20-21 and Ezekiel 48 alludes to the return of the Hebrew people to their inheritance at the Lord’s return. These combined scriptures give details of a fifty year time period and the events alluded to in a prophetic prospective. At a minister’s conference several years ago one of the speakers stated that the rabbis in Isreal had revealed that the fall of 1999 was the beginnings of what they termed the Birth pains of the Messiah. An explanation was never given to how the conclusion was reached. That statement ignited a desire to understand the scriptures from a Hebraic perspective that I knew would alter my beliefs. A few years passed and I was able to locate the study resources needed to began this quest for understanding. There are four levels of scriptural understanding that is necessary to truly understand the Word of God according to the ancient rabbis. All beliefs must be subject to God’s Word. The bible states that we know in part. 1Corinthians 13:9 Some of our understandings are not accurate so the Lord moves upon His prophets to right the wrong. Looking at the scripture through the Hebraic point of view it slowly began to unfold to me what Jesus meant concerning the Birth pains of Messiah. It was discovered that each year the high priest went into the Holy of Holies to make atonement for national inadvertent sin. The Hebrew writings stated that if the sacrifice was accepted a red rope placed at a visible location would turn white. The year after the Lord’s resurrection the rope didn’t change according to Hebrew history. Jesus died approximately 30 AD. God’s calendar is lunar meaning it is measured by the moon and not the sun and the earth’s rotation around it. Using God’s calendar, it seems the rabbis counted from the time the roped stopped changing colors at the Day of Atonement that came after the Lord’s passion two thousand years. The Bible states that a day is as a thousand years with the Lord. Psalms 90:4. I decided to look into the sod(mysterious) level of understanding of scripture. Included in this level is the Bible code, grematria, jots and tittles, and prophetic experiences. There are a company of prophetic ministries that are coming to the forefront of the church in the upcoming days. Periodically I seek confirmations of things the Lord reveals to me from this group of ministries. As an example, the Lord revealed to me that President Obama would be elected. I was given details including the state that television would announce the winning of the election. I later spoke to a prophetic friend who too saw it. He stated that he saw the adversary’s ultimate plan concerning the president and our nation. Later one of the ministers here locally had a like experience in the Holy Spirit that was so vivid that he thought it had happened. He got up and turned on the television expecting a news report. The apostle Paul stated we know in part and prophecy in part, therefore I seek confirmations from like ministries.(1Corinthians 13:9; 2 Corinthians 13:1)I found in this company of prophets concerning the Birth pains of the Messiah that they saw seven year cycles of warnings to this country and the nations of the world. Their words spans several years into the future. Jesus stated, Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. This is a Hebrew idiom that refers to the fall Feast of the Lord. Hearing this from a western prospective gives an misunderstanding of the Lord’s intentions when He made that statement. Therefore, combining the various facts it seems to say that the Lord could return within a fifty year timeframe beginning at approximately the fall of 1999. Nobody knows with certainty the exact time of His coming but He admonishes us to know the season. Matthew 16: 3 states, And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? September 11,2001 the birth pains of the Messiah were evident. The towers fell and wall was breached and the world that was will never be the same. Let’s enter into His work as stated in Romans 8:19-22. As the apostle Paul stated that as the world groans that we enter into those birth pains of the Messiah in order that He and His son’s might manifest to the whole world that a Son was born and a child was given for the deliverance of all mankind and the entire world.

The scripture states, But Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not understanding the Scriptures nor the power of God. (Matthew 22:29 NASB) To correctly understand the Word of God requires study, meditation, and revelation. Within Christianity there a myriad of groups and denominations due to scriptural interpretation, practices, and tradition. Therefore, it should be expected that there would be various approaches to the prophetic scriptures. Much is said about the imminent return of the Lord at any moment. Truth states that until the church loves one another the world will not know that Jesus is Lord. We will continue to be a people with spots and blemishes in our lives until the love of God prevails in the church. (John 17:21; Ephesians 5:27) Until the time of the end much of what the prophetic scriptures expressed would misunderstood. And he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. (Daniel 12:9 NKJV) Jesus stated that prior to His coming there would be wars, famine, and increasing numbers of earthquakes. Related to these phenomena Jesus stated, But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. (Matthew 24:8 NASB) Our nation is now experiencing war, terrorism, and earthquakes increasing at an alarming rate. As a nation 2012 has been a year of drought. Over sixty percent of the nation is affected. The heartland of the nation, the corn belt that feeds a major portion of the people’s of the earth, is experiencing the second worst drought in our history. The middle east is undergoing leadership changes in various nations. These are only a few of the many things that the prophets mentioned that would occur at this time. But Jesus stated these are only the beginnings of birth pains that would be experienced before the joy of new life (Jesus) coming into the earth. In May 1948 Israel became a nation according to Isaiah 66:8 with Zion travailing. Judaism teaches that in the Hebrew scripture there are four levels of understanding that must be considered. The link included gives a brief explanation of the levels of understanding that this explanation will rely upon:

http://www.rockingthefoundation.com/apps/articles/default.asp?articleid=13941&columnid=1568

The fundamentalal truth to understanding the return of the Lord is that the timing of His coming is revealed around the Old Covenant Festivals of the Lord. At Jesus’ first coming He fulfilled the spring harvest festivals. His second coming will fulfill the fall harvest festivals. Using the above approach to the scriptures I will employ all the levels of understanding discussed in the link. We have heard it said, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8 NKJV) Understanding the Old Covenant properly we find that God never changes. As gentile believers, not understanding the Hebrew language has caused us to function at a profound disadvantage when it comes to correctly approaching the content of the Old Testament. For example in both covenants what we call the new covenant should actually be translated the renewed covenant. (Hebrews 9:15; Jeremiah 31:31-34) In Galatians 3:13-18 it states that the original covenant was made with Abraham and the law was added at a later date to tutor God’s people until the fulfilling of the promise. The feasts of the Lord were instituted in the law to point and teach us about the two comings of Messiah. Included in the spring feasts are observances of Passover, the Feast of First Fruits and the Feast of Weeks (Pentecost.) Jesus came and we all acknowledge the fact that He came and was sacrificed during the Passover season. The Feast of First Fruits celebrates the resurrection of our Lord. Fifty days later the proof of His resurrection came in the fire of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. The fall feasts are prophetic declarations of the second coming of the Lord Jesus. The fall festivals include the Blowing of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, the Feast of Tabernacles, and the Rejoicing in Torah. Before He comes back the world undergoes a time period know as the birth pains of Messiah. This term was not introduced to the Hebrew people when Jesus made the statement. Man with his hands on his loins Like a woman in labor, And all faces turned pale?

After the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, He stated that all authority and power was invested in His name. Matthew 28:18 Before His passion He stated, John 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. The resurrection of Jesus endowed His name with a power that all men could live in that would cause a spiritual revolution in the world. The new birth has placed in the hands of every believer in Jesus the keys to unlock every good thing that the blood of Jesus has purchased. Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” (Acts 3:6 NKJV). All that the kingdom of heaven has to offer is in the salvation placed in that name. In His death all things that would be considered adversarial to our lives were defeated. 1 Corinthians 2:6 The Holy Spirit raised Jesus from death in the lowest part of Hades to show us His victory over death. Acts 2:27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. In that place of despair and suffering in our behalf Jesus received the life of God back into His spirit and then defeat satan and all his cohorts. Jesus paraded them in front of all spirits in a procession of triumph thoroughly pleasing our Father as He spoke from heaven for all to hear. Hebrews 1:5-6 The book of Acts depicts an intense warfare against the use of the name of Jesus after His resurrection. Peter announced that there was not salvation in any other name under heaven but the name of Jesus. Acts 4:12 The word of God describes salvation as wholeness and deliverance from all that is evil. Sin, sickness, poverty, and ignorance are just a few of the many evils of the adversary. Faith in the name of Jesus is the key that unlocks the door to deliverance. Acts 3:16 The early believers in Christ Jesus had a deep understanding of the authority in the name of Jesus. In the book of Acts the underlying thought is the warfare over the use of the name of Jesus. Acts 4:29-31 At the moment of our new birth into the body of Christ, we were born into the name of Jesus. Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age, AMEN (Matthew 28:19,20 AMP). The call to every believer in the Body of Christ is to enter into this warfare over the supremacy of the name. Jesus stated that His never changing presence would be with us through His name. We are therefore authorized to bear the name of Jesus to world proclaiming freedom and redemption. The Lord showed us a pattern of living in Acts 1:1. In 2012, I had a vision of the Lord. He was dressed in His royal apparel riding on a white horse. He was crowned King of kings and Lord of Lords. In His hand was a two edge sword that He was using in battle to defeat the enemies of our soul. The sword of the Spirit in His hand was the victorious Word of God. Following His example, with faith in His name began to do the works and teachings of the Lord proclaiming the day of salvation.

The word constrained means to be held by, closely occupied with business. This word constrained was use to describe a cattle squeeze pushing in on each side, forcing the animal into a position where it cannot move so the farmer can administer medication. As a veterinarian I see this on my job when I work with cattle. The tight squeezing causes the animals to walk in an unnatural gait. The love of Christ is to cause us to walk the narrow tight way in a supernatural gait pleasing the Lord. Living life the “straight and narrow” is living in the spirit of wisdom and revelation. Ephesians 1:17-18 shows how the apostle Paul is praying for the born again, spirit filled Ephesians that God would grant them the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. He then describes how the Holy Spirit opens the eyes of your heart with floods of light. The Lord wants to be so much apart of our lives that it totally changes what we think, feel, and believe. In Ephesians 3:17-20 Paul goes on to say how this revelation causes us to know by experience God’s love resulting in prayer power. Not having the spirit of revelation in our lives puts us at a gross disadvantage to living a life pleasing the Lord. Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law (Proverbs 29:18 ESV). Without the spirit of revelation active in our lives we become like the cattle I mentioned earlier that refuse the restraint to go into that shute where the way is narrow and pressured. The book of Hosea 4:1,6;6:1-6 details how the nation of Israel suffered from a lack of the knowledge of God. This knowledge is not knowledge derived from intense study. Their knowledge of the Bible even today far exceeds our’s in the Christian church. This is a knowledge received by being in contact with someone(God). The Bible calls it “the knowledge of God.” The apostle speaks of it in the above scripture in Ephesians. The knowledge of God gives us the advantage in our daily lives. This knowledge gives us the insight and confidence to face the daily challenges of life. Knowing that the life that you are living is in His will gives you the full assurace of faith. By faith Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death; and he was not found because God took him up; for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God (Hebrews 11:5 NASB). This text states that Enoch had a witness from God that his life was pleasing to God. The word witness means to testify to the truth of what one has seen, heard, or knows. It was communicated to Enoch that his life was pleasing to God. Our Lord is not a respecter of persons. If Enoch could obtain this witness so can any believer in the body of Christ. The spirit of revelation giving us the knowledge of God helps us in our walk constraining us to stay out of sin and darkness. 1 Corinthians 15:34. The warfare of life in Christ Jesus is a life of victory. But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ’s victory] and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere, (2 Corinthians 2:14 AMP). 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 states that the warfare is against the knowledge of God that He imparts to us by the Holy Spirit. The spirit of revelation wants to establish our lives in the truth of His will for us. 1 Peter1:12 calls it present truth. Jesus in His warfare in the wilderness said to the adversary, Not upon the basis of bread only shall the individual live, but upon the basis of every word proceeding out of God’s mouth. Matthew 4:4 Wuest Jesus is telling us here that we are to live daily by what presently is proceeding from God’s mouth to us. The Lord desires that we come to Him daily to receive fresh bread to live by like the Israelites in the wilderness. In the book of acts there are many examples of the early church living in present truth as the Holy Spirit imparted the spirit of wisdom and revelation. The apostle Paul’s entire life was lived this way. Acts13:1-4 states how church leadership at Antioch entered into the Spirit and the Holy Spirit directed them to seperated Paul and Barnabas to their life’s work. In Acts 16:6-9 there are several examples of how the Spirit directed Paul and Barabas on where He desired them to go or not go. These words from Him imparts power to live in revelation and kingdom authority. No word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment. (Luke 1:37 AMP) Living in the will of God by the the spirit of wisdom gives us faith to face the challenges of life. Confronting those challenges by faith allows us to experince the power of God as we overcome the spirit of the world arrayed against the church. The knowledge of God that is being experienced, living in his will overcoming the challenges of life, is the life that our Father desires that all christians live. The angels of the Lord came to the shepherds in the field at His birth. The men responded saying lets go and see what has happened because of the Lord’s word to us. The great lesson here is let’s live life going to see the thing that the Lord has said to us. My wife and I have lived this way for over thirty years. We have learned that living by revelation is the most fulfilling exciting life that can be lived on earth. Make no major decisions without seeking the knowledge and the wisdom of God. When His will is revealed and lived, your life will take on new depths and heights in God. You will receive the witness like Enoch that your life is pleasing to God. You don’t have to wait to the final judgement to receive a well done good and faithful servant. Seek Him now and live pleasing to Him in the fullness of life.

Pastor Samuel Tyler

I have found in my Christian experience that getting into the presence of the Lord is like a launching pad for explorations in outer space. The word of God states the following, Philippians 4:6 Stop worrying about even one thing, but in everything by prayer whose essence is that of worship and devotion and by supplication which is a cry for your personal needs, with thanksgiving let your requests for the things asked for be made known in the presence of God (Wuest). The last part of that verse speaks of being in the presence of the Lord while making request of Him. Our pursuit of the Lord’s presence causes us to be able to have true fellowship with the Lord which includes both asking and receiving from Him. In His presence we are able to receive all that the Lord has for us including direction for our lives. Many years ago I was in the presence of the Lord and I heard the the Spirit of the Lord speak to me concerning moving to my present location. In part 1 of entering the spirit I gave a brief outline of how the Lord’s church can enter into His presence much easier. All kings have protocol in which they are to be approached. If you hadn’t read this I suggest that you should. It will be of great benefit to you. When you enter His presence we should respond as the apostle John did on the isle of Patmos. His response according to Revelation 1:9-17 are highlighted in two verses, Revelation 1:10 I came to be in the Spirit in the Lord’s day and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, 19 Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be after this. John was in the spirit and he heard, saw, and wrote what he saw. The prophet Habakkuk records, I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it (Habakkuk 2:1, 2 NKJV). These two prophetic witnesses stated the same process as their response when entering the spirit. When in the Spirit’s presence our hearts are receptive to the Lord’s communications. Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, Like a weaned child with his mother; Like a weaned child is my soul within me (Psalm 131:2 NKJV). A quiet heart is where the Lord that lives within speaks to His children. And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice (1 Kings 19:12 NKJV). This is how Elijah speaks of the Lord’s Spirit speaking to him. The Hebrew word for small is H1851. דק daq: An adjective meaning fine, thin; low or small from the Strong’s concordance. This means that we have to have a quiet heart which enables us to hear in the Spirit’s presence. Habakkuk in the above verses gives us a four step response when in the Spirit’s presence:

1. Standing his watch speaks of getting your heart quite in the Spirit’s presence.

2. Watch and see refers to expecting to see in spirit. Paul states, I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, (Ephesians 1:18 NASB). The very eyes that you would use if you were in heaven can be opened to see what the Spirt wants to reveal to you in your heart. These are internal visions that many see. Other translations of the Bible calls them the imaginations of the heart. Your heart has the ability to recieve vision from the Lord.

3. To say or speak to me, as stated by Habakkuk, speaks of hearing the Spirit’s voice speak to what Paul calls the inward man. Rom 7:22 The person on the inside of you has the same abilities as your natural man has including hearing and seeing. The need for spiritual food for the inward man is as much a reality as the need for food of your natural body.

4. Write the vision speaks of recording what you see and hear. Writing what was seen and heard is how we received the Bible. 2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. The Bible is the testimony of Jesus written by the prophetic spirit. These teaching of God’s word about entering the Spirit’s presence are a capsule of how to recieve the wisdom of the Spirit. We all need God’s wisdom to live a victorious life in Christ Jesus. A podcast is also available for your listening in the media portion of this site. Your questions will be quickly responded to that your progress in God might not be hindered.

Jesus stated, Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved (Matthew 24:12,13 NASB). In these end of days the Lord stated that the love of God’s people will grow cold. Even at this time attendance to worship services in local churches is on the decrease. Some surveys say attendance is dropped as much as twenty percent. The word the Lord spoke actually speaks of a future time. We are now seeing a foreshadow of the fulfilling of that scripture. His antidote for resisting lawlessness and cold love is endurance in the love of God standing in great expectation on His word. Luke 21:28 The Lord further stated, “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man” (Luke 21:34-36 NKJV). The above statements by the Lord shows that an lifestyle in the flesh and worry due to fear would be paramount in the days we live in. He stated that if a lifestyle of watching the prophetic signs through prayer, that we would live in victory. The apostle Paul gave some love signs pertaining to our world that are ingrained in the very fabric of the culture of our nation. But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self- control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people 2 Timothy 3:1-5 ESV. The apostle calls these times difficult. The Amplified Bible translates it as follows, perilous times of great stress and trouble [hard to deal with hard to bear]. At the first glance of this scripture we think about wars and trouble between nations and people groups. This scripture when examined in context is stating something very different. The keys to seeing the passage in context are lovers of self, not loving good, heartless (KJV without natural affection), lovers of pleasure, and having a form of godliness but denying the power of God. This speaks of a people that believe in God but deny the power of His word to live morally powerful lives. The Bivle gives us a moral code that we must live by. Speaking of it in another passage the book of Galatians 5:22-26 speaks of the power of God in the inward man to keep us from the passions of the flesh. Examining 2 Timothy on a personal level we can see how interpersonal relationships could be dangerous if self-control is not exercised. Heartless or without natural affection speaks of cold love for family. The problems with spousal and child abuse are constantly in the news. Women leaving their children is common today. Many states has passed laws to prevent mothers serving jail time if children are dropped off at hospitals or fire stations. Another sign in this passage is the love of pleasures. The love of pleasure is a gift from God. When it is abused it can develop like an addiction to drugs. You start with the simple pleasures of life like being with your family. Now with the nation living in stressful times the simple pleasures are not enough. We feed our minds with things and activities designed to overcome stress which ends in boredom. The stress causes our brains to overstimulate seeking pleasure, causing us to need more pleasure to feed the perceived lack of excitement in our lives. The cycle repeats until nothing moves us. The medical term is called anhedonia. This affliction is affecting everyone to some extent. Even in the church of the Lord Jesus we see it in a need to entertain congregates. If our gatherings are not designed using high energy then the brain isn’t stimulated to fill the need for pleasure. We leave the worship service feeling that we weren’t feed when actually we weren’t stimulated in the pleasure center of our brains releasing chemicals (dopamine)that produce feelings of pleasure. Pleasure seeking without self-control can lead to marital infidelities, divorce, and murder/suicide within family settings. Ministries are making the news with regularity due to the lure of this trap to stimulate the mind rather than still the heart to help the congregates hear the voice of God. Nevertheless, the word of God always has answers to our most desperate needs. 2 Timothy gives us a plan of action. Shun youthful lusts and flee from them, and aim at and pursue righteousness (all that is virtuous and good, right living, conformity to the will of God in thought, word, and deed); [and aim at and pursue] faith, love, [and] peace (harmony and concord with others) in fellowship with all [Christians], who call upon the Lord out of a pure heart (2 Timothy 2:22 AMP). We can now see from the above scriptural quote, that the Holy Spirit gave us the antidote for this pleasure dependency. Fellowship in the proper spiritual environment will help us grow in enduring love as we move closer to the coming of the Lord. Our greatest pleasure on earth should be God Himself. Hearing His voice and obeying His word will build in us an enduring love that will never fail or disappoint.

In the visitation He asked me to follow Him. After giving my life to Him a desire began to arise inside of me to know His word but especially the prophetic scriptures. In the 1980’s I began to hear people say Jesus was coming soon. It was said that we were living in the timeframe that was considered the last generation. I then discovered that the prophecy teachers were teaching that because Israel became a nation in May 1948 and they believed that a generation was forty years due to scriptural references that seem to state a time span of forty years was considered a generation. 1988 passed and we then enter the 90’s and Jesus hadn’t returned. The year two thousand came and the Y2K scare came with it. The church was alarmed because of what we thought the prophetic scriptures stated about the return of the Lord after a two thousand year period. I was asked several times by various people what were my family and I doing to prepare for Y2K. My answer was nothing because the Lord said nothing as I sought His face. The year 2000 began and the body of Christ was in confusion. Prophecy teachers have been stating that Jesus could come back at any time because of their understanding of the prophetic scriptures. Due to the theological law of first mention, some stated that a generation is a hundred years. Watching this and seeking the Lord for answers, He sent me to His word. With an open heart to the language of scripture He had me to study the words of the Lord Jesus. This is what Jesus stated, Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place (Matthew 24:34 NKJV). What is believed to be the definition of the word generation is what the controversy is about so I decided to look at the word. The commonly used concordances and wordbooks state that the definition of the word has to do with a period of time. Looking beyond the explanations to the actual definition I found something different. The word generation comes from the Greek word genea G#1074 in a Strong’s concordance. The actual definition is a multitude of contemporaries, the affinity of communion based on the sameness of stock. As a veterinarian and animal breeder I realized that this meant a certain type of people. This is the same word we get genealogy from. Looking further it is defined as a genealogical line of ancestors or descendants. Jesus denounces the Pharisee’s in Matthew 23 and in Matthew 26 the conspiracy was set in motion. In the 23rd chapter Jesus states, See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! (Matthew 23:38, 39 NKJV). The question is who is the Lord referring to in the above statement. Isaiah the prophet states, He is despised and rejected by men (Isaiah 53:3a NKJV). The Hebrew word for men is iys H#0376 in the above mentioned concordance. There is more than one word in Hebrew translated as man. This word is referring to great, mighty, champion men. This word refers to men that are leaders. The common people welcomed Jesus in Jerusalem just days before His passion. Jesus was speaking above in Matt. 23 of the leadership of Israel. Therefore I would suggest that we take another look at the Master’s words because this takes all of the time limits away and prompts us to pray for the hearts of the leadership of the nation of Israel to accept their Messiah. The Hebrew people believed that due to the prophecies of Daniel that the Messiah would arrive at the time that He appeared to the nation of Israel. He came but He did not function as they thought He would from reading the prophetic scriptures. He came and completed the passion of His cross. The Hebrew people were left in a state of confusion. Only Jesus’ closest disciples were privileged to have their confusion brought to light. Jesus stated, and because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold (Matthew 24:12 KJV). The word love is the Greek word agape; gen fem. noun from agapao (G0025), to love. This word is a love that only the born again can live in because this is the love that came into our hearts by the Holy Spirit at the new birth. The church of the Lord Jesus should consider that maybe we need to seek the Lord to prevent ourselves from confusion about His second coming walking in the love of God.

The book of Ephesians is a book that the Lord left us as a blueprint to find the will of God for our lives. Eph.1:11 says “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who worth all things after the counsel of His own will:” To live a life without or outside of God’s purpose is a life of frustration and fruitlessness. The Lord’s desire is to be fruitful in every good works Eph.2:10. One of the first things a newborn Christian should learn is to establish a working knowledge of how to contact the Spirit of the Lord to received daily manna from heaven. Jesus said, "It has been written and is at present on record, Not upon the basis of bread only shall the individual live, but upon the basis of every word proceeding out of God’s mouth" (Matt.4:4 Wuest). The Lord Himself received words that proceeded from the mouth of God before entering the wilderness to do battle with the adversary. The wilderness experience of the Lord was the basis of all of the temptations. The apostle John in the book of Revelations calls it being in the spirit. Rev.1:9-10. John states that after being in the spirit the mystery was revealed to him. We have mysteries in our lives that we need revelation to live in victory. The apostle began to see and hear happenings of the world of the spirit. The book of Hebrews states, "But solid food belongs to those who are [spiritually] mature, to those who on account of long usage have their powers of perception exercised to the point where they are able to discriminate between both that which is good in character and that which is evil. to us that our spiritual senses need to be exercised and trained to know good from evil" (Hebrews5: 14 Wuest). in the natural world we interact with it to be able to function in this world that we live in. Without any of the five senses we function at a disadvantage. When the apostle John was in the spirit all of his spiritual senses in the inward man (Rom.7:22) were interacting with the spirit world. The Lord’s greatest desire is that we know Him personally. As much as the Bible means to us it reminds me of a love letter written to someone sent from a distant land. Before all the modern communication devices were invented giving us even instant communication, letters were sent through the postal service. Most letters took several days to reach their destination. I have been married many years but our relationship began with a once a month phone call if possible and letters. We have a letter framed in our home of the first letter that I wrote to my wife Andrea. It stands as a monument of our loving commitment to one another. We have progressed in our relationship from letters and monthly phone calls to communicating without talking. That change came through spending lots of time with each other. That is the Lord’s desire for the believer. He desires that we know Him like we know the person closest to us. Colossians1:9AMP states “For this reason we also, from the day we heard of it, have not ceased to pray and make [special] request for you, [asking] that you may be filled with the full (deep and clear) knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [in comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God] and in understanding and discernment of spiritual things–. This verse is stating that He wants you to know Him as your heavenly Father. He desires that we understand our circumstance in life in order to take dominion over the evil the adversary would like to impose on any believer. This knowledge is not the general knowledge we get from reading/studying our Bibles. We study our Bibles and we are still asking the Lord how and why in many cases. This is knowledge that the Father has about you and His knowledge given to you about your life. He wants you to know His character, what makes His heart beat. Just as you would not allow just anyone to approach you in a disrespecting manner so is the Lord. I would like to briefly share with you 30 years of what we have learned in approaching the Lord Jesus to enter the spirit having our spiritual sense activated:

1. PRAYER- Jude20 AMP states “But you beloved, build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith [make progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher] praying in the Holy Spirit;. 1Cor.14:2 states that speaking in other tongues is speaking in the spirit. The apostle Peter in Acts2:4;16-17 connects speaking in other tongues, in the spirit, with having dreams and visions. We can see from the 1Cor.14:2,5 that speaking mysteries allows God and open door to give you the knowledge needed of these mysteries. The apostle John was in the spirit praying mysteries and received the Revelation of those mysteries he prayed. We can therefore see that there is a connection in the scriptures with the speech of the spirit with the other abilities of the inward man including seeing and hearing.
2. The Word – Heb. 4:12 states, "For the Word of God is quick and powerful, sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerned of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Listening to the Bible read will separate the spirit and soul causing your spiritual abilities to activate. I have found that putting the reading of God’s Word into your ear using modern technologies benefits beyond measure.
3. Music – Music can be invaluable when used properly to enter the spirit. There are many gifted musicians and singers but truly anointed praise and worship music is a must. In 2Kings 3:15 the kings were looking for someone to give them the Word of the Lord from a true prophet. The verse states that Elisha stated to them bring me a minstrel. He was seeking an anointed musician not just a gifted one. David was an anointed musician driving out the evil spirits in King Saul’s life. The two of them filled the atmosphere driving out the hindering spirits. In Elijah’s case he began to hear the Word of the Lord.
4. Find songs that are sung ” to the Lord ” that touch your heart. First seek songs of praise. Then seek songs of worship. These songs must be songs that are sung to the Lord not ” at and about the Lord.” Start first singing those songs of praise with the music “to the Lord” until your heart tells you to began the songs of worship to Him. While in worship take note that you began to sense His Presence the Holy Spirit in your presence. To maintain this atmosphere for long periods of time find spontaneous “wordless” anointed music like piano music that are not songs that you know. You do not want something known that you can hum or causing you to want to move your feet. In that type atmosphere you will began to develop a hearing seeing heart.

Theses are the beginning steps of entering into a life with God that will change you forever. Began to practice entering into His presence. The ultimate goal is to have deep intimate fellowship with the Lord Jesus. The Lord wants to be as close and real to you as any person you will ever know. As I was completing this teaching He said ” He wants to be so close that He gets to give you the nickname that He has for you.” Practice His presence and you will never be the same. This is only the beginning of an approach to the Lord. Next will be the recording of what He says to you in these times of fellowship. Be blessed.
